7-Writing about London


London is a city in the south of England. Its name was Londinium in Roman times.

The population in Roman times was 45,000, and now is about 7,5 million.

There are places in London with the names of important people in history:
Trafalgar Square commemorates Battle of Trafalgar and Victoria Street commemorates Queen Victoria.

The people of London are called Londoners or “Cockneys”. Famous Londoners include Charlie Chaplin a famous actor, Arthur Conan Doyle a writer of Sherlock Holmes stories...
